Rev. Jarvis A. Ellis, Sr.

The Reverend Jarvis Armard Ellis Sr., first born child of Harold Ellis and Doris Ellis, serves as Senior Pastor of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio. Ellis is a proud native of Atlanta, Georgia.

Pastor Ellis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Paine College in Augusta, Georgia, a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling & Theological Studies from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, a Pastoral Leadership Degree from Marquette University and he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree in Prophetic Preaching & Leadership at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.

Pastor Ellis is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Pastor Ellis faithfully served two congregations (Great Faith Missionary Baptist Church & New Direction Christian Church) prior to Macedonia in Milwaukee for 11 years.

Under Ellis’s dynamic and Spirit-led leadership, both churches experienced astronomical growth both spiritually and numerically.

Since January 31, 2021, Pastor Ellis has faithfully served as the Senior Pastor of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Under the leadership of Pastor Ellis, Macedonia has experienced astonishing growth in all aspects of ministry, in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic. After suspending in-person worship in March 2020, Macedonia launched #MacedoniaEverywhere, a virtual extension of the churches ministry, which engages an average weekly audience of 2,000 people. Pastor Ellis unrelentingly believed that, “Although the building was closed, the church was still open.”

While Pastor Jarvis Amard Ellis Sr. is mostly known for his preaching ministry, those closest to him know that he values quality time with family and friends. Although Pastor Ellis is a man who loves God and ministry, he also loves and is very devoted to his family. Pastor Ellis is blessed to share each day of his life with his beautiful, supportive wife, best friend, and high school sweetheart, Malloree and together they are the proud parents of one son, Jarvis Armard Ellis II. Together they serve in ministry and currently live in Dayton, Ohio. For all the above, Pastor Ellis gives God complete glory!
