Reverend Aaron G. McCoy is the son of the late Reverend George A. McCoy and Rose McCree McCoy. A visionary leader and devoted servant of God, Rev. McCoy was recently elected to serve as the eighth Pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio. He is excited about the opportunity to serve the Macedonia church family and the greater Dayton community. He previously served as the dynamic third pastor of Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church of Charlotte, where the church experienced remarkable growth, spiritual renewal, and financial stability under his leadership. His ministry is grounded in three core values: the exaltation of God, the edification of the saints, and the evangelization of the world.
Through prayer, perseverance, and the unwavering support of the congregation, Mount Vernon reached a historic milestone in 2023 when the church was completely paid off. This achievement represented far more than financial freedom. It stood as a testament to God’s faithfulness and the fruit of unified leadership, stewardship, and vision.
A passionate advocate for education, Rev. McCoy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science from Allen University. In 2023, he completed the Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling at Gardner-Webb University, where he has since returned to pursue the Doctor of Ministry degree.
Rev. McCoy’s ministry has been marked by diverse opportunities for service that have fostered both spiritual growth and meaningful community connection. He previously served as Youth Minister for the Sandy River Baptist Association and the United Missionary Baptist Association. He currently serves as First Vice Moderator of the United Missionary Baptist Association, General Board Member of the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, and Executive Committee Member of the Young Preachers Network of the state convention.
He is also a faithful member of the NAACP, the Black Political Caucus of Charlotte, the Charlotte Ministers Conference, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
Widely respected as an evangelist, preacher, and revivalist, Rev. McCoy is sought after for his powerful preaching and unwavering commitment to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He counts it a sacred privilege to share God’s Word whenever called.
Pastor McCoy cherishes his twin sister, Ashley Lymisha McCoy, and is joyfully engaged to Jessica Renee Farr. Their wedding is planned for June 28, 2026, in Montego Bay.
He finds strength in Isaiah 40:31: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
